For the UCLA women's basketball team, landing center Lauren Betts last offseason was a massive get. She helped them throughout the entire season and was key to their success.
But in the Sweet Sixteen, Betts and the Bruins came up short, falling to LSU 78-69. It was a disappointing end to a season that had so much promise.
The Bruins were led by guard Charisma Osborne, who had 24 points and 8 rebounds. Betts added 16 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome LSU's balanced attack.
The Tigers were led by guard Alexis Morris, who had 25 points and 6 assists. Forward Aaliyah Boston added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bruins will now have to regroup and prepare for next season. They will lose Betts to graduation, but they will return a number of key players, including Osborne and forward Izzy Anstey.
