Cleveland Cavaliers Fall to Orlando Magic in Playoff Opener
Cavaliers drop Game 1 at home, face uphill battle in Eastern Conference semifinals
Cleveland will need to regroup quickly as they head to Orlando for Game 2 on Saturday night
The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a disappointing loss in their first game of the 2024 NBA playoffs, falling to the Orlando Magic 112-99 at home on Wednesday night. Despite a strong start, the Cavs were unable to maintain their momentum and were ultimately outplayed by the Magic in the second half.
The Cavs were led by Donovan Mitchell, who scored 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting. Darius Garland added 23 points and 8 assists, while Jarrett Allen had 18 points and 10 rebounds. However, the Magic were too much to handle on this night, as they shot 50.0% from the field and made 14 three-pointers.
The Cavs will now head to Orlando for Game 2 on Saturday night. They will need to regroup quickly and find a way to slow down the Magic's offense if they want to tie the series.
