Edmonton Oilers Trail 1-0 to Florida Panthers After Game 1 Loss
Edmonton Oilers look to earn a split of the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final when they face the Florida Panthers tonight in Sunrise, Fla.
The Oilers are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Panthers in Game 1 on Saturday. Edmonton outshot Florida 39-32, but the Panthers scored the game-winning goal with just 1:04 remaining in overtime. This was the first time an NHL team scored a game-winning goal in overtime of the Stanley Cup Final since 2001.
The Oilers are making their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Final since 1990. The Panthers, meanwhile, are making their first appearance in the Final since 1996.
