British Cliff Diver Switches Nationality

Hunt aims to compete for France in 10m event

Elite sports diver Gary Hunt, who won world gold for Britain last year, has switched nationality and aims to compete for France in the 10m event

Hunt, who was born in England but has lived in France for many years, said he made the decision after "careful consideration".

"I have always felt a strong connection to France and I am proud to represent this country," he said.

Hunt will make his debut for France at the FINA World Championships in Budapest next month.

The 34-year-old is one of the most successful cliff divers in history, having won the World Series title 10 times.

He is also a two-time Red Bull Cliff Diving World Champion and has won numerous other major events.

Hunt's decision to switch nationality has been met with mixed reactions.

Some people have criticized him for turning his back on the country where he was born, while others have wished him well in his new career.

Hunt said he understands that some people may be disappointed by his decision, but he hopes they will respect his choice.

"I am grateful for the support I have received from British fans over the years, and I hope they will continue to follow my career," he said.
