Chase Budinger: From the NBA to the Olympics
Former NBA player Chase Budinger is going to the Olympics, but not for basketball.
Budinger, who played in the NBA for seven seasons, has transitioned to beach volleyball and is set to become the first person to have played an NBA regular season game and competed in an Olympic Games.
Budinger, who is now 33 years old, played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, and Brooklyn Nets during his NBA career. He averaged 8.3 points per game over his seven seasons.
After retiring from the NBA in 2017, Budinger took up beach volleyball and quickly became one of the top players in the United States. He has won several tournaments and is currently ranked No. 1 in the US.
Budinger will represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He will be paired with Casey Patterson, who is a two-time Olympian.
Budinger's journey from the NBA to the Olympics is an inspiring story. It shows that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
